Kodiak holds marine water quality workshop for OA and HABS

three communities in the Kodiak area (Larsen Bay, Old Harbor, and Ouzinkie) are conducting weekly monitoring for ocean acidification and harmful algal blooms (HABS), and the goal of the workshop was to discuss these issues and train new partic

ipants on sample collection.

Organizations involved included NOAA, UAF, Sitka’s Southeast Alaska Tribal Ocean Research (SEATOR), KANA, and Environmental Coordinators and leaders from six federally-recognized tribes on Kodiak.
