Overview

Research is underway to better understand how Alaska species might respond to ocean acidification. When people think about ocean acidification impacts, shell-building organisms often come to mind first since ocean acidification reduces the bicarbonate building blocks necessary to build shells. However, ocean acidification can also affect behavior, reproduction, growth and survival of other species, including fish. Here you can explore what is known so far about species in Alaska based on lab experiments. To see big picture results in one view, check out a poster showing all species studied to date.
